My name is Stephen Owiredu. I am a recent Humber College graduate with a diploma in Tourism - Travel Services Management (Class of 2023). I am enthusiastic about working in the tourism business. Throughout my internship with WestJet Airlines, I had the chance to work directly with the customer service staff and help travelers with their travel requirements throughout the pandemic.
I was able to find work and maintain my position in the aviation business. This work helped me to hone my communication and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced atmosphere. I am grateful for the valuable skills and experience I gained. I am confident that my education and hands-on experience have prepared me well for a career in the tourism industry. I am eager to contribute my knowledge and skills to a dynamic organization that values customer satisfaction and strives to provide exceptional travel experiences.
During my time at Humber College, I took an elective course called the cruise industry, and it sparked my interest in pursuing a career in this specific area of tourism.Currently, I am working on getting into the cruiseline industry associated with clia, which I believe will allow me to further enhance my expertise in the tourism field.After joining the cruiseline industry to gain experience in the field. I will be returning to school to continue with my bachelors degree,also further my career within the public service(Federal Government Of Canada).

ArriveCAN is a mobile app provided by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Introduced in April 2020, it allows travellers entering Canada to electronically submit travel documents and customs declarations. The app was initially developed as a joint effort between the CBSA and the Public Health Agency of Canada, as part of the federal government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was used to submit travel documents, health assessments, and declarations of plans for mandatory self-isolation. In July 2021, the app began to be used for submitting proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Use of the app was compulsory between November 2020 and October 2022 while COVID-19 travel restrictions were in effect. ArriveCAN has faced scrutiny over its costs and who was subcontracted to undertake its development, with the issue becoming the subject of a political scandal(PPC Party $7.9 million) in 2024.
